Who is Harun Korkmaz?

Harun Korkmaz, born in 1984 in Korkuteli, Antalya, is a Turkish screenwriter, director and producer who has made series and programmes for TRT and Show TV, documentaries, and the award-winning film Kıspet.

Korkmaz graduated from the Turkish Language and Literature department of Cyprus International University in 2007 and completed a master’s degree in Folklore there in 2010. That academic path shaped how observations about society reach the screen.

Analysing society’s media habits, tastes and preferences, Korkmaz has worked across film, documentary and television as a consultant, writer of text and dialogue, director and producer. In productions that carry a society’s cultural motifs to its audience, the aim is what is realistic and natural.

Today Korkmaz continues the TRT 2 programme Tiyatrovizyon as producer and director, and is developing new projects for the future of cinema and media.
